Insurance Departments by State
Insurance Department is a governmental federal agency in each state appointed on the administration of insurance laws, including the licensing of brokers and insurers and their ordinance and testing. In some jurisdictions the department is a division of another state department or agency.
Insurance Department has obligation for the enforcement of the state’s insurance code. It is appointed with the oversight and licensing of insurance firms and agents and the universal governance of insurance laws of the state.
